Heather M. Colvin recently joined Johnson and Johnson as the Director of Regulatory Affairs, Evidence and Outcomes Policy. In this role, she is the MD RA leader charged with identifying and communicating innovative evidence generation and real-world evidence policy strategies and information. Throughout her career, she has driven policy research and implementation activities focused on improving patient outcomes through advances in evidence development. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, she has served as a Project Director at both the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy and the Brookings Institution with Mark McClellan’s biomedical innovation research team. She partnered with thought-leaders from diverse stakeholder groups –regulators, patients, industry, payers and clinicians – to develop pragmatic policy recommendations to modernize regulatory science.
Her past experience also includes positions as a project officer on several studies for National Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Medicine (now the National Academy of Medicine), an International Health Officer for the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Global Health Affairs, and a performance measurement policy analyst for the National Committee for Quality Assurance and Towers Perrin/Towers Watson. She holds a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from George Mason University.
